Family Caregivers - This One’s for You!

Caring full-time for a loved one with a disability or Chronic disease? You may qualify to get paid through Nebraska’s LRI Program, and Caretech is here to guide you every step of the way.

What Is the LRI Program?

The Legally Responsible Individual (LRI) Program is a Medicaid-funded benefit in Nebraska that allows parents of minor children and spouses of individuals with disabilities to become paid caregivers.

That means if you’re already caring for a loved one at home — you may now be eligible to earn income for the care you’re already providing.

This program is part of Nebraska’s Aged and Disabled Waiver, designed to support individuals who require extraordinary care as determined by the state’s DD-26 assessment.

Who Qualifies?

You may be eligible if:

  • You are a natural/adoptive parent of a minor child with a disability
  • You are a spouse of a Medicaid waiver participant
  • You provide daily, hands-on care that goes beyond typical household duties
  • Your loved one qualifies for Extraordinary Care under the DD-26 assessment
  • You work with a Service Coordinator to update their Person-Centered Plan

Not sure if you qualify? Don’t worry — Caretech can help you find out.
