Caretech is proud to announce its sponsorship of the new Military and Family Helpline, a 24/7 support line dedicated to offering confidential assistance to military members, veterans, and their families. Partnering with United Way of the Midlands (UWM), Offutt Air Force Base, and the Nebraska Department of Veteran Affairs, Caretech is thrilled to help deliver this essential resource to military families in the Omaha area and beyond.
The Military and Family Helpline was formally launched on November 7, 2024, at an event held at Offutt Air Force Base. The press-conference-style event, attended by about 50 representatives from UWM, Offutt, NDVA, and other supporting organizations, included opening remarks from leaders of these organizations and celebrated the teamwork and dedication behind this project. Attendees then enjoyed refreshments and connected over the shared mission of supporting the military community.
How the Military and Family Helpline Supports Service Members and Their Families
With nearly 70% of active-duty service members living off base, there is a critical need for quality support that extends beyond military installations. The Military and Family Helpline is designed to bridge that gap, offering connections to vital resources within both on-base and local communities. This helpline provides a secure and accessible way for military members and their families to seek support for various life challenges.
“This partnership with Caretech has been instrumental in bringing the Military and Family Helpline to life,” said Shawna Forsberg, President and CEO of United Way of the Midlands. “Caretech’s dedication to helping veterans access critical support services is a testament to the power of community partnerships, and we are grateful for their role in making this helpline a trusted, accessible resource that honors our military families.”
The partnership brings together the local knowledge and leadership of United Way of the Midlands with the extensive reach of military and veteran services provided by Offutt Air Force Base and the NDVA. At the core of this partnership is a dedicated navigator who operates both on-base and within UWM, providing tailored assistance and streamlining access to a variety of services.
