At Caretech, we’re committed to supporting our community, especially our veterans who have bravely served our country. This year, we proudly partnered with Bellevue University’s Military Veteran Services Center (MVSC) for their Veteran Backpack Project. This initiative provides essential supplies to homeless veterans through the Siena Francis House and New Visions for Homeless Veterans in Nebraska. The project ensures that veterans facing the harsh winter months have the essentials they need—and the comfort of knowing their community cares.
The Veteran Backpack Project: What’s Inside?
Homelessness remains a serious challenge for many veterans, and the MVSC’s Veteran Backpack Project seeks to ease their hardships by filling backpacks with critical winter and personal care items. Each backpack includes:
- Packaged snacks for quick sustenance and energy.
- Winter apparel like hats, gloves, scarves, and thermal underwear helps veterans brave the cold.
- Warm socks for foot protection, are particularly essential for those without stable housing.
- Basic hygiene items such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and hand sanitizers, enable veterans to maintain their dignity and health.
- Hand and foot warmers to provide quick relief from the cold.
Each of these backpacks is a lifeline, delivering more than just essential supplies—they carry a message of gratitude and respect.
Caretech’s Role in Supporting the Backpack Project
Caretech is honored to play a role in supporting veterans through this important project. Our team joined volunteers in gathering and packing supplies with care, working alongside the MVSC team at Bellevue University to fill each backpack with a shared commitment to support our community’s veterans.
Donations Through November 8th
Thanks to the Bellevue University Military Veteran Services Center, donations were accepted through November 8th at their center. This generous window allowed people from the community to contribute to this meaningful cause, helping to ensure that veterans have the essential winter gear and personal items they need.
Why This Matters to Us
Caretech’s participation in the Veteran Backpack Project is more than a seasonal effort—it’s part of our year-round dedication to making a difference in veterans’ lives. By collaborating with the Military Veteran Services Center, we stay true to our core values of service, respect, and compassion for all.
How You Can Help in the Future
Though this year’s donation period has closed, we encourage anyone interested in making a difference for local veterans to stay connected with Bellevue University’s Military Veteran Services Center and Caretech. Together, we can continue to show our gratitude and care for veterans in need, ensuring no veteran goes without support in the future.
Thank you to everyone who joined in making this project possible!
