Caretech, in partnership with AseraCare Hospice and Echo Hills Assisted Living, hosted the Red, White, and Blue BBQ to honor and support Nebraska’s veterans. The event, inspired by Caretech’s dedication to giving back to the veteran community, brought together businesses, families, and residents in a memorable day of fun and heartfelt contributions.
The event featured a host of engaging activities, including a speakeasy with local beer flights, live entertainment, yard games, and a silent auction, with the food and games being particular crowd favorites. A moving ROTC salute kicked off the festivities, setting the tone for a day filled with camaraderie and purpose.
“Our partnership with AseraCare Hospice and Echo Hills Assisted Living was rooted in a shared passion for supporting veterans,” said Stacey Hallberg of Caretech. “This event was a testament to the power of collaboration and community support.”
Thanks to the generosity of 10 sponsors—including Brookestone of Papillion, Brookestone Meadows, Brookestone Village, Maxwell App, Inspired Caring, and others—the event exceeded its goals. In addition to over 1,000 food and hygiene items, nearly $6,000 was raised to provide bus passes for local veterans.
The donations were presented to the VA Referral and Resource Center pantry, ensuring critical resources for veterans in need. The funds will also support transitional housing through New Visions, making a tangible impact on the lives of homeless veterans.
Stacey says, “The VA was deeply grateful for the donations, and the community response was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees are already looking forward to next year’s event, and we are excited to grow our contributions in the future.”
Plans are already underway to make the Red, White, and Blue BBQ an annual tradition. Caretech encourages the community to stay engaged by following their social media for updates on upcoming events or reaching out directly to support their ongoing efforts for veterans.
